Manage Drill and Blast Operations

A five day course providing advanced skills to managers and design engineers with responsibilities in the surface drill and blast industry.

The course comprises five study units each of which is run over a one or two day period:
A1 Surface blast design.
A2 Management of blasting operations
A3 Flyrock management
A4 Misfire management
A5 Advanced initiation

Assessment is by completion of a workbook and written examination specific to each of the five units of study.

On completion of all five units the successful trainee is awarded a statement of attainment for the following units of competency:
RIIBLA401A Manage blasting operations
RIIBLA402A Monitor and control the effects of blasting on the environment.
RIIBLA601A Design surface blasts
